Glass bead blasting
What is glass bead blasting?
In contrast to sharp-edged blasting media such as sand or corundum, glass bead blasting uses tiny, round glass beads. These do not act abrasively but through deformation. The surface is not torn open, but gently compacted — the result is a uniform, satin-matt surface finish.
This process is the first choice for components made of stainless steel, aluminium and non-ferrous metals, as it refines the surface without changing dimensions or material properties.
Your Benefits
- Aesthetic surface finish — Uniform, satin-matt appearance for high-quality components and visible surfaces.
- Enhanced corrosion resistance — The compressive densification of the surface sustainably increases resistance to corrosion.
- Improved fatigue strength — The compressive residual stresses increase fatigue strength and extend the service life of your components.
